Our Story

Three generations, one olive grove, one fire.

Tucked into the slope of Afeilianes, a quiet hamlet above Platania in South Pelion, To Ktima has been the Voulgari family's home and kitchen for generations. The view stretches across olive terraces to the open sea — and on a clear evening, to Skiathos.

What began as a place to feed neighbors and travelers has become a small destination of its own: an unhurried meal under the vine, cooked the way it has always been cooked here.

The Kitchen

Cooked over wood. The way Pelion taught us.

At the heart of the kitchen is a traditional wood-fire oven, lit every service. The slow heat is what gives our melanzani its caramelized edges, our oven-baked dishes their depth, and our breads their crust. Nothing about it is for show — it's simply how the food is meant to taste.

  • Garden vegetables & local olive oil

A Pelion First

Every dessert,
made by hand.

We are the only taverna in Pelion that makes its entire dessert menu in-house, by hand, every day. Pistachio cream, chocolate tart, panna cotta, lemon meringue, walnut cake — recipes refined over years in our own kitchen. Ask for the sweet plate at the end of your meal. It is not an afterthought here; it is the reason many guests return.
